Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki

A quiet practice for tending your energy, your body, and the way you move through life.

Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a gentle style of energy healing that supports deep rest, nervous system softening, body awareness, and connection with your own healing process. Sessions are quiet, intention-led, and spacious. You do not need prior experience with Reiki, energy work, or spiritual practice to begin.

Chasta's approach is shaped by wilderness, grief, gardening, body listening, and daily rituals that help a person come back to themselves. In this work, ritual is not about performance. It is how we create small moments of care that support our highest good: mental and physical wellbeing, self-trust, clearer choices, and more grounded relationships with ourselves and others.

Rest-focused Intention-led No experience needed

What to expect

Simple, quiet, and guided by consent.

Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki can feel mysterious from the outside. In practice, it is a calm, consent-led session where your only job is to settle in, breathe, and receive.

Arrive + settle

We begin with a short check-in, your intention for the session, and any needs around comfort, scent, sound, touch, or space.

Receive Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki

You rest while Chasta offers Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki. Some people feel warmth, heaviness, emotion, imagery, or deep relaxation. Some simply feel quiet.

Return gently

We close with grounding, water, and a few moments to notice what shifted. You never have to explain, perform, or believe anything to belong here.

Field notes

The practice grows from riverbanks, trail dust, grief, and ordinary wonder.

The Mortar & Mage is shaped by the places Chasta returns to for grounding: rivers, camp mornings, trail dust, plant magic, and the people and companions who help the dream become real.

About Chasta

Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki Master. Herbal magic maker. Traveler, gardener, tender of thresholds.

My calling is to reconnect people with the natural world through Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki healing, herbal magic, and the wisdom gathered through my own healing journey. The Mortar & Mage is a Reiki practice: part energy work, part botanical care, and part grounded ritual space.

Before moving to Boise, I spent nearly two decades helping people connect more deeply with place. I grew up in Harrison County, Indiana, then spent 4.5 years as an adventure travel guide leading trips across the United States and Canada. In fall 2012, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky and began my journey in bourbon tourism, helping grow Mint Julep Experiences into a company serving Kentucky, Tennessee, Ireland, and Scotland.

I am a lifelong gardener, seed saver, and plant lover shaped by Mimi, Granny, and the women who taught me to tend what is living. My happiest places are in nature and wilderness, on a yoga mat, dancing to live music, traveling, volunteering, learning, and connecting with the beauty around me. I share life with my chiweenie, Tennessee Jed, and with Jason, my steady partner, co-dreamer, and biggest source of encouragement.

Questions

For the Reiki-curious and body-listening.

New to Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki, energy work, or the idea of energy healing? Start here. Curiosity is more than enough. So is skepticism. So is simply needing a quiet hour.

What is Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki?

Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a gentle style of energy healing centered on rest, nervous system softening, body awareness, and reconnecting with your own inner signal. Chasta offers it in a grounded, welcoming way so you can receive without needing to know all the language first.

What is energy healing?

Energy healing is a supportive wellness practice for tending the parts of us that daily stress, grief, change, and overextension can leave tight, tired, or disconnected. At The Mortar & Mage, energy healing is offered as rest, presence, ritual, and body listening. It can support mental and physical wellbeing, self-trust, clearer choices, and more grounded relationships with ourselves and others.

What is the difference between Usui Reiki and Holy Fire® Reiki?

Usui Reiki is the traditional Reiki system developed by Mikao Usui and passed down through teacher-led training and attunements. Holy Fire® Reiki is a newer evolution of Reiki taught through the International Center for Reiki Training. Chasta's training includes both, so her sessions are rooted in the Usui lineage while also inviting the gentle, restorative qualities associated with Holy Fire® Reiki.

What training does Chasta have?

Chasta is master certified in Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki and continues to study Reiki, herbal care, nervous system support, and nature-based healing practices. She is insured through the Energy Medicine Professional Association and is a member of the International Center for Reiki Training.

What happens during a session?

We begin with a brief check-in and intention. You remain fully clothed and settle comfortably while Chasta offers Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki at the East End Healing Studio or through distance Reiki. We close slowly with space for reflection, water, and next steps.

How do chakras, fascia, and herbs fit into a Reiki session?

Chasta may use chakra language, fascia awareness, herbs, breath, or simple somatic cues as optional reflection tools. They help name where stress, protection, or emotion may feel present in the body without diagnosing or forcing a story onto your experience.

Do I need to believe in Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki?

No. Curiosity is enough. You can receive the session as rest, reflection, body awareness, quiet time, or a simple ritual of being tended.

What is distance Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki?

Distance Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a remote session you receive from wherever you feel comfortable. Chasta opens with a brief Cal Video check-in, offers Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki at the scheduled time, and closes with reflection.

Where do in-person Reiki sessions take place?

In-person sessions take place at The Mortar & Mage East End Healing Studio: 760 E. Warm Springs Ave., Suite L, Boise, ID 83712. Distance Reiki is also available through Cal Video for clients who prefer to receive from home.

Do you serve the Treasure Valley?

Yes. The Mortar & Mage serves Boise, the East End, and the Treasure Valley through in-person Reiki, distance Reiki, botanical experiences, markets, festivals, and wellness gatherings.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing. You stay fully clothed for Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki, and the goal is to help your body feel settled and at ease.

What if I am sensitive to scent, smoke, herbs, sound, or small spaces?

Please note sensitivities in your booking questions. Chasta can adjust the environment and keep the session simple, quiet, and low-scent.

Is Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki a replacement for medical care or therapy?

No. Usui/Holy Fire® Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not a replacement for medical care, mental health care, trauma therapy, hormone care, or emergency support.

What is the cancellation policy?

Payment is collected at booking. Full refunds are available when you cancel at least two business days before your appointment.
